"The best stories do not merely entertain us but offer us passage into our own life on trails we never saw before"
~ John de Kadt

They say when a culture or
a people have lost their way.....lost their connection to nature or their communities or to themselves that it is time to reach back into
the old sacred stories left by our ancestors.
John is an accomplished storyteller for more than 25 years, sharing evocative and meaningful ancient myths from various indigenous cultures and mystical traditions. This is story as ritual , story as ceremony, story as a way of remembrance and as a vehicle to see ourselves more clearly. He tells these stories while playing an array of percussive and melodic instruments from across the globe, creating an immersive and dynamic experience that joins present, past and future communities.

He shares stories at festivals, fine arts theaters, churches, and retreat centers, offering a style of storytelling uniquely enriched by rhythmic and melodic accompaniment.
He calls this work DrumStory, and has brought it to audiences across Asia, Europe, and North America.
John is also a founding member of the multidisciplinary musical and storytelling trio The Rememberers, who tour regularly, weaving ancient myths with contemporary, original songs that create a beautiful and magical sojourn of story and music. www.rememberers.org
